How to Download & Install RealPlayer (free version)
If the computer you are using does not already have the Real
Networks RealPlayer software installed, you will need to download and install
it. The instructions below are for installation on an IBM-compatible PC.
- To download the free RealPlayer for Windows,
Macintoshes or other devices, start by clicking here.
- In the window that opens, click on the link for the right
version of RealPlayer for your computer's operating system e.g. click on the
link for Windows.
- In the window that opens next, click on a link for a download
location e.g. the link to “Seattle, WA”.
- In the File Download window that appears next, click on
the button which says “Open”.
- The RealPlayer Install Wizard window then appears once
the file is downloaded – click “Accept”, then “Next”.
- A progress bar will then appear while files are copied
and installed. When completed, the “Finish” button will appear
– click this button to complete the install.
- An optional registration form then follows. You can complete
this form or click on "Cancel" if you choose not complete it.
- After this, RealPlayer will appear on the screen. At this
point, RealPlayer is now installed on your PC. Please test your installation
of RealPlayer by clicking here
- you should then be able to view our video on Webcasting.
PC System Requirements for RealPlayer
Recommended PC system requirements are:-
- 500 MHz Intel Pentium III processor or greater (supports
simultaneous record/playback features)
- 128MB of RAM
- High-speed Internet connection (audio/video)
- Full Duplex sound card and speakers
- 65,000-color video display card set to display at
800x600 or higher (video)
- CD writer (for CD burning features)
- 700+ MB available disk space for writing Media and
MP3 CDs (not required for audio CDs)
- DVD player and DVD playback software (for DVD playback)
- Analog recording requires an inline audio cable or
microphone
- Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 with Service
Pack 2 or later, or Windows XP
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
- Windows Media Player 9.0 or later
- QuickTime 6.4 or later
- If using Screen-Reader software: JAWS (v4.02 or greater
recommended) or WindowEyes (v4.21 or greater)
